SCHOOL UNIFORMS ARE MANDATORY

It is important for students to be aware of the value of good personal appearance. School is a place of work.

School Uniforms

South Miami Heights Elementary School has been designated as a mandatory uniform school as determined by the votes cast by parents. The uniform is pastel colored polo shirt with the school emblem worn with navy or khaki short pants, skirts, skorts, or jumper. The school T-shirt and navy or khaki shorts, pants, skirts, skorts or jumper is also acceptable. The shirts and bottoms may be purchased from Kmart, Target, J C Penney, Ibiley, Sears or anyplace that sells school uniforms. The PTA will sell the school T-shirts and the iron/sew on patches for the polo shirts. JEANS ARE NOT ALLOWED.

In addition, all students are to comply with the following dress code.

  1. No metal cleats on shoes.
  2. No clogs, thongs, sandals, or other shoes without back straps. No tap shoes.
  3. No clothes with metal studs, ornamentation, or other objects which that can scratch furniture or damage property.
  4. No jewelry
  5. No jeans.
  6. Pants and shorts cannot be skin tight, strechy or slim fit.

Note: For security reasons, all students must wear uniforms on all field trips.
